    Join our fast-paced creative team! The Graphic Designer is a visual storyteller who creates strategic, compelling and inclusive designs that engage and persuade target audiences while advancing the brand and national reputation of the University of Dayton.

    As part of University Marketing and Communications, the Graphic Designer will support the Art Director in advancing the brand and national reputation of the University of Dayton. This position focuses largely on developing advertising and branded graphics to generate awareness about the University, support recruitment of new students and encourage alumni engagement. The Graphic Designer will also support the Art Director in curating our photo/asset library and directing photo shoots. Depending on expertise, the position may also assist with taking photos and developing short videos.

The Graphic Designer will help ensure our photos and marketing materials accurately represent the UD community.


    Minimum Qualifications
    - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    - Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
    - Strong attention to detail
    - Ability to shepherd projects from concept to completion
    - Ability to develop creative, cohesive and compelling designs, as demonstrated through a portfolio. (Applicants should provide a minimum of 5 design samples via a link to their online portfolio OR a PDF attachment in the application)
    - Time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously


    Preferred Qualifications

    While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

    - Two or more years of professional design experience
    - Experience designing pieces across multiple platforms (digital, print, email, web, etc.)
    - Proven experience working within a brand
    - Knowledge of how to design pieces that comply with ADA accessibility standards
    - Proven photography experience (e.g., taking photos, cataloging/managing photos)
    - Proven experience creating motion graphics, video animations/graphics, etc.
    - Knowledge and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist principles and values, including diversity and inclusion

    A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

    Cedarville University is seeking to hire an IT Support Tier 2 Technician that provides advising, installation, diagnostic, repair and technical support services for university and personally-owned technology and peripherals.  This is a full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Director of Technical Services. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position works as a team member performing assigned tasks and taking proper initiative to resolve the following user issues: 

    • Installs or removes hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools including, where appropriate, handover to the client. Conducts tests, corrects malfunctions, and documents results in accordance with agreed procedures. Reports details of all hardware/software items that have been installed and removed so that configuration management records can be updated. Provides assistance to users in a professional manner following agreed procedures for further help or escalation. Reviews change requests. Maintains accurate records of user requests, contact details and outcomes. Contributes to the development of installation procedures and standards
    • Identifies and resolves issues with applications, following agreed procedures. Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.
    • Prioritizes and diagnoses incidents according to agreed procedures. Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution. Escalates unresolved incidents. Facilitates recovery, following resolution of incidents. Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures.
    • Applies tools, techniques and processes to track, log and correct information related to configuration items. Verifies and approves changes ensuring protection of assets and components from unauthorized change, diversion and inappropriate use. Ensures that users comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates. Performs audits to check the accuracy of information and undertakes any necessary corrective action under direction.
    • Assists in investigation and resolution of network problems. Assists with specified maintenance procedures.
    • Investigates problems in systems, processes and services. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience in installation and maintenance of computers and related equipment (or an aptitude for such work)
    • Basic working knowledge of computer operation (OS & hardware)
    • Aptitude and willingness to learn thorough diagnostic and repair techniques

    The IT Help Desk Support and Training Coordinator provides multi-channel support for individuals who contact Information Technology for assistance.  The coordinator provides tier one help desk functions and coordinates day-to-day activities of the help desk student workers.  The coordinator develops, organizes, and delivers Information Technology training programs to university faculty and staff.  The coordinator also serves as the IT departmental receptionist in the absence of student workers.     Position Summary:  The candidate must be able to provide user with needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing and documentation of systems and executes and supervises projects from design through startup, debug and acceptance. The overall job duty of the Applications Developer is to develop and maintain databases and software applications. The candidate will also often act as a mentor for less experienced team members.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Successful candidate will support multiple systems from initial system design through enhancing applications to support end users requirements. Responsibilities include analysis, performance monitoring, and diagnosing user needs in determining functional and cross functional requirements.  The individual must be a self-starter capable of managing multiple tasks at the same time while producing high quality results. Knowledge in thorough testing procedures to ensure that systems produces accurate output in a timely manner and that file updating meets agreed upon criteria.
    The overall job duty of the Applications Developer is to develop and maintain databases and software applicationsby evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements and will require some development of software systems. Confirms program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes. Maintains computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating documentation. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Skills

    The candidate should have experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases, HTML and a working knowledge of SQL coding. Knowledge of Kronos, Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One, ColdFusion, MVC, Dynamics 365 integration using REST API’s, Microsoft Common Data Service and Microsoft Power Platform would be helpful but not required. Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills with experience communicating technical information to non-technical personnel is required.

    Desired Experience

    Experience in systems analysis and design, testing, integration and configuration control procedures for business applications systems would be helpful.  The candidate should possess the ability for identification of improvements for designated systems, development of appropriated policies and procedures.  Performs analysis, establishes programs to monitor performance, develops reports, online systems and analyzes user needs to determine functional and cross functional requirements.

    Education/Years of Experience:

    Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields or equivalent job experience.

    Hourly or annual rate       $ 75,000 -$95,000
