Job Summary/Basic Function Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the incumbent serves as an IT and audio-visual specialist for Central State University and the 1890 Land Grant program. This is the first contact customer-facing position requiring excellent customer service and communication skills, in-depth technical knowledge, attention to detail, friendliness, and calm under pressure. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. The incumbent will be the primary A/V technician responsible for overseeing installations and setting up, operating, and maintaining A/V equipment and applications including OneScreens/Qomos/MondoPads/Hypersign,Teams/Zoom/Webex, video cameras, document cameras, LCD equipment, projectors and codecs, and other A/V technologies in various locations across campus. In addition, the incumbent will assist users with presentations/operations of videoconferencing and distance learning technologies, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and replacement of parts/equipment as directed. This position reports directly to the Desktop Support Manager in the Information Technology Division. Since the position also involves work for the 1890 Land Grant System at CSU, it is expected that the incumbent will abide by the policies and procedures of Land Grant employees at CSU, as well as University policies and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical assistance and support for University and Land Grant users related to the
endpoints, A/V technologies, software, and other technology that is maintained by the Marauder IT Services.
2. Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills.
3. Performs fundamental/advanced problem-solving skills, assists University and Land grant users and the University community.
4. Provide training to users on new or updated technologies.
5. Performs routine technical assistance and maintenance duties that optimize performance.
6. Maintains and updates records of repairs and fixes as needed; may document projects and maintain user instructions.
7. Troubleshoot systems and work with university and Land grant personnel including faculty/staff/students to determine needed software/hardware changes.
8. Courteous, professional, and patient.
9.Required Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectivelywith a wide range of constituencies in a diverse University setting.
10.Detail and deadline orientated.
11.Able to see beyond ambiguity.
12.Ability to setup, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot audio visual equipment. Equipment toinclude digital sound systems, microphones, projectors, interactive boards, videoconferencing, and digital signage.
13.Demonstrated experience in remote technology such as OneScreen, Mondo Pad, CiscoWebex, Zoom, and MS Teams.
14.Specifically supports the President’s Cabinet and CSU Board of Trustees with remotevideoconferencing technologies for regularly scheduled meetings as well as other high-profileuniversity events.
15.Demonstrated experience with desktops, laptops, printers, document cameras, projectors, &smart technologies.
16.Answer multi-line phones and assist users remotely or in-person.
17.Assists with tracking inventory of equipment and materials; performs data entry andmaintenance of records.
18.Perform systems maintenance and testing to ensure proper functionality of systems andperipheral devices; troubleshoots and resolve system hardware, and software.
19.Assists with the review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions relating to hardwareand software acquisitions.
20.Configure/deploy desktop/laptop for staff/faculty and computer labs.
21.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
22.Submits monthly Time and Effort Reports for the Land Grant work.
23.Other duties/tasks/assignments.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Job Requirements:

5.Highly responsible and has the ability and desire to be self-directed.

7.Have a boots-on-the-ground perspective.

Experience and Qualifications:
1.Four years of hands-on experience in computer maintenance.
2.Four years of hands-on audio-visual experience preferably in an educational setting.
3.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4.Excellent interpersonal skills.
5.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
