Dear Data Pros, 

I hope this message finds you well.  I'm reaching out to you today to share exciting news, and to ask for your support.  Sinclair is once again hosting DataFest - an international competition sponsored by the American Statistical Association (ASA).  DataFest is an enriching, immersive event with the potential for a lasting positive impact on student participants.  The event will take place on March 22 - 24 at the Centerville campus, and will include food, fun, prizes and swag!

More than 2000 students take part from top tier schools across the United States, including Miami University, Ohio State, and other Ohio institutions.  Last year was our inaugural launch, and we intend to make this year's event bigger and better!  History and past event information is available here:  what is DataFest?

This is a fantastic opportunity for these students, but they need our help.  In order to succeed, we need local professionals - subject matter experts (SMEs) - to provide hands-on guidance and mentoring to student teams during the event.  We need 'data pros', math and statistics advisors, as well as communication gurus who can advise on storytelling and presentation.  

Whether you have the capacity to hunker down with the teams on both days or can only spare a couple of hours on Friday or Saturday, we welcome and appreciate your support.  All volunteers are invited to attend the awards ceremony luncheon on April 6th.
