Dayton Metro Library has reached out with a wish list for their upcoming Career Adventure Days.
Their audience is 900 7th graders who will visit the main library over 3 mornings, Nov 28, 29, 30 from 830-12 each day. They divide employers into different groups so the students can visit three areas for 40 minutes in each area. Within each area, there may be as many as 6 different employers/ partners representing a wide variety of job and career fields. They are concentrating on Dayton Public students this year and West Carrollton. They are asking each employer to share a hands-on activity and info about their particular industry, including education, expected pay, future demand, etc. No food or items can be passed out during the sessions, but an employer can include swag in our student bags provided they get the items to us right away.
Here's is their wish list for technology representation:
~Graphic Design/CAD
~Movie Industry stuff
~"White Hats"/Cybersecurity
~Video game design/creation
~Phone app design/creation
~Coding, but make it cool lol
