YouScience Family Night with Kettering City Schools

Hello Dayton-area business leaders and Kettering City Schools business partners!

We are excited to extend an invitation to you and your organization to participate in our upcoming YouScience Family Night, an event dedicated to inspiring and educating our 8th grade students and their families about the diverse career opportunities available to them.

Shape the future of our region's talent pipeline by participating with one of our best-positioned school districts when it comes to workforce development initiatives. We'll have possibly 600 Kettering students participating and their families. 

Registration

Currently, we have representation from a variety of sectors, but we are still looking for strong partners in advanced manufacturing, business services, logistics, aerospace, and additional IT support beyond our current partner, Sinclair College.

· Date: October 9th

· Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

· Location: Fairmont High School

· Additional Information: Dinner will be provided to all volunteers and set-up will begin at 5:00

About YouScience: YouScience is a cutting-edge career guidance platform that helps students discover their aptitudes and align them with potential career paths. By utilizing a series of scientifically-based assessments, YouScience identifies students' natural talents and matches them with in-demand careers that they may not have previously considered. This personalized approach empowers students to make informed decisions about their futures and equips them with the knowledge to pursue fulfilling and successful careers.  

All KCS 8th grade students will take the YouScience assessment the week of Sept. 3.  Students and families will then receive a print out of their YouScience results at our October 9th YouScience family night and will be encouraged to visit businesses that align with their aptitudes and interests.

How You Can Get Involved: We are seeking enthusiastic business leaders like you to host interactive and engaging tables at our event. Your participation will provide students and their families with invaluable insights into different industries and career paths. We encourage you to create a hands-on experience that showcases the exciting opportunities within your field and inspires our students to explore new possibilities.

Your involvement will not only contribute to the students' career exploration but also strengthen the connection between our community and local businesses. We believe that exposing our students to a variety of professions will help them make more informed decisions about their educational and career journeys.
