A Journey to FinOps

As you move into cloud technologies and start to become more mature in how you leverage the cloud, cost management becomes a key practice. FinOps is an operational framework and cultural practice that helps you maximize the business value of the cloud and create financial accountability. In this session, we will outline what a FinOps Framework is and discuss how a FinOps program needs to drive and address strategic alignment and cultural change and not just technical and operational skills. I will also discuss some of what Microsoft focuses on with customers in this space and some of the best practices around Visibility, Accountability and Optimization.

Andrea Waugh has been focused in helping customers move their infrastructure and business services to the cloud for over 13 years – with 11 of them at Microsoft. She is a senior business leader with deep technical and business expertise and leads virtual teams of sales, technical and services resources to help her customers realize digital transformation through the use of Azure services. She has worked with Retail, Manufacturing and Financial Services customers and has a special focus area in cloud maturity and cloud workload security.
