Beyond the hype associated with any new technology, it is clear that society will be broadly impacted by artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation. This session aims to foster awareness and stimulate discussion of the impact of AI and automation on the Dayton region - in terms of both threats and opportunities.

David J. Wright (PhD 1989, Sheffield England) is Director of Academic Technology & Curriculum Innovation at the University of Dayton. He has 25 years teaching experience at UD, and is a strong proponent of technology enhancements to support learning. Prior experiences include the development of one of the very first learning management systems, and software development for NASA's manned space program. He is also the Associate Director of the University of Dayton's Ryan C. Harris Learning Teaching Center.
