The Business Intelligence & Enterprise Reporting unit collaborates broadly and deeply with the many strategic and operational leaders and teams across the university in scoping, designing, implementing, managing and sustaining an array of business intelligence services and platforms for campus-wide decision support solutions. This position will have the authority and responsibility for the business intelligence strategy and implementation of all major reporting needs for the University. Successful candidates for the director position will embrace the following responsibilities:
a) Lead the development and sustainment of a widely-supported business analytics strategy that is well-integrated with effective data management practices based on an industry-standard business intelligence system architecture.
b) Optimization of the university’s data assets by promoting best practices in data management, customer service, business intelligence applications, data quality, and data security and confidentiality.
c) Ensure the operational effectiveness of the business intelligence and enterprise reporting unit through thoughtful and strategic planning, collaborative organizational practices and widely-shared performance measures that are executed by a highly competent staff of professionals.
d) Establish the vision and goals for the Business Intelligence & Enterprise Reporting unit and ensure alignment with the University's strategic vision and the strategic plans across the many university operations.
e) Broad understanding of industry standards, technology trends and best practices to ensure successful management of opportunities and risks for the information management, reporting and data usage environment.
f) Facilitate and support University-wide data governance policies and practices with an emphasis on policy development around compliance, privacy and related legal obligations (GLBA, GDPR, FERPA).
