Enterprise Applications Specialist

The City of Centerville, Ohio, a “warm & cheerful” community with a population of approximately 24,000 located eight miles southeast of Dayton in Montgomery County is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Enterprise Applications Specialist.  The Centerville community boasts bustling business centers, nationally recognized public and private schools, hundreds of recreational and athletic programs, miles of hiking/biking trails, nearly 50 parks, The Golf Club at Yankee Trace renowned municipal golf course, beautiful Victorian Homestead Benham’s Grove, nationally accredited Police department, fine dining, upscale shopping and charming historic downtown business district.  The City of Centerville is a council-manager form of government dedicated to delivering exceptional services through thoughtful governance to ensure progress and stability.

Position Responsibilities:

  • ·       Assists with application security setup and administration.
  • ·       Supports applications throughout all City departments (City Council, City Manager’s office, Finance, Communications, Golf Course, Parks, Community Development, Public Works, Human Resources, Police, and Information Technology).
  • ·       Performs or assists in application system upgrades, monitoring, and maintenance as required.
  • ·       Assists in providing technical assistance to user departments in order to solve problems related to their applications.
  • ·       Interacts with vendor technical personnel.
  • ·       Assists and performs quality assurance functions to ensure deliverables are technically sound and meet user requirements.
  • ·       Contributes to maintaining the City’s Cyber Security Posture through trainings, technical engagements, anti-virus, malware detection, EDR and phishing and spamming email training and awareness.
  • ·       Creates and maintains related project configuration and support documentation within the scope of departmental guidelines.
  • ·       Develops and maintains functions, scripts, queries, and reports for applications as deemed necessary.
  • ·       Provides backup for related positions as needed or required.
  • ·       Works with various APIs to integrate systems and aid in the administration of application and reporting servers.
  • ·       Monitors and maintains daily and incremental backups and compliance of Disaster Recovery Services and Plans.
  • ·       Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops as requested and authorized.
  • ·       Oversees the Microsoft server infrastructure, including user access, Office 365, application deployment, as well as the daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field.
  • ·       Valid Ohio driver’s license.
  • ·       Superior customer service skills.
  • ·       Three (3) years of work experience in information technology systems or with managing computer application software; or any combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful in the position.
  • ·       Effective communication skills, both verbal and written using technical and non-technical language.

The pay range is $65,985-$85,780 depending on qualifications, plus an excellent benefits package.
