The Electronic Access Control Technician installs, services, trouble shoots, and maintains electric strikes, card readers, power supplies, solenoids, electric mortises, electric panic devices and any other locking devices associated with card access on university owned buildings. The Electronic Access Control Technician maintains an adequate and appropriate stock of supplies and equipment needed to perform duties in a timely and efficient manner. The scope of this position requires night time, holiday, and/or weekend work to respond to emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years experience electronic locking experience.
Knowledge of electronic locking devices their operation and installation practices.
Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of performance.
Experience interpreting plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and the ability follow hardware schedules.
Computer literacy required.
Individual must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the University, which includes maintaining a low-risk driving record.
Effective written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Formal training in locksmith, electronic access or related field.
Familiarity with Medeco and Best locking systems.
Experience working with CBord and/or Synergistics access systems.
Working in a university or college setting.
Licensed locksmith or related electronic access field.
Proven effective oral communication skills.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
